Parking Blackpool

The Most Secure Car Parks in Blackpool, Ranked

Most Blackpool car parks are open surface car parks: anyone can walk in, day or night. If you're leaving a car somewhere for the evening or a few days, these are the six with real security features, ranked. The catch: the most secure ones close at night.

Each car park below is marked with the security features its operator confirms. Features nobody states either way are left off. Details come from Blackpool Council, the Houndshill Shopping Centre, the car parks' own signs and our visits, checked in October 2026.

The overnight catch

The most secure car parks here close at night: Houndshill at 11.30pm, Talbot Road and the Central multi-storey at midnight. If you need to collect your car late or leave it overnight with access, your choice is between the 24-hour car parks, which are monitored rather than locked: 98 Bond Street, Napier Bond Street, South Beach, and the open Central and Bonny Street car parks.

Houndshill sells season tickets with 24-hour access, from £75 a month, if you need a covered, monitored space around the clock.

What happened to Blackpool Secure Car Park?

This website began as the website for Blackpool Secure Car Park on Hornby Road. That business no longer exists. The car park is now Hornby Road Car Park (FY1 4QP), a separate business that isn't a secure car park, and this guide isn't connected to it.

What makes a car park secure?

  • Controlled entry: a barrier, gate or shutter, so vehicles can't come and go freely
  • CCTV: cameras that cover the bays, not only the entrance
  • Staff: someone on site during opening hours
  • Lighting: bays lit after dark
  • Lock-up: the car park is closed and locked outside opening hours

What is Park Mark?

Park Mark, the Safer Parking Scheme, is an award managed by the British Parking Association. Car parks are assessed for measures that reduce crime, such as lighting, CCTV and how they're managed. In this guide, only Houndshill says it holds the award.

Frequently asked questions

Of the car parks that publish their security details, Houndshill is the most secure: covered, monitored and holding a Park Mark award. It closes at 11.30pm, so for overnight parking 98 Bond Street is fenced, with CCTV, and open 24 hours.

What is the most secure car park in Blackpool?

Not with full security. The covered car parks close between 11.30pm and midnight. For 24-hour access, 98 Bond Street is fenced with CCTV, and Napier Bond Street and South Beach have CCTV.

Is there secure overnight parking in Blackpool?

Not any more. This website began as its website, but Blackpool Secure Car Park no longer exists. The site on Hornby Road is now Hornby Road Car Park, which isn't a secure car park. This guide is independent and can't take bookings.
