Free Parking in Blackpool
Free parking in Blackpool is scarce. The council car parks charge at all times, and the free spots that exist fill up fast on busy days. Here's what's genuinely free, who it's free for, and the cheapest paid options when you can't find a free space.

Where you can park free
Blue Badge holders
A Blue Badge gets you free use of on-street parking meters and pay and display bays, and 3 hours free at Central's surface car park and South Beach if you display a clock showing your arrival time. See the Blue Badge parking guide for the full rules.
Motorcycles
Motorcycles park free in the marked motorcycle bays at Central Car Park and South Beach.
Near the Pleasure Beach
There are a few marked bays near the Pleasure Beach's main entrance, by the public toilets, free for up to 2 hours. They're handy for a short visit, but don't plan a whole day around them.
On-street, if you're lucky
Some side streets inland from the promenade, such as those off Hornby Road, and parts of New South Promenade can be free at times. Spaces go early and are rare on busy days and Illuminations nights, and the rules vary street by street, so always check the signs before you leave the car.
Where you can't park free
- Council car parks: Blackpool Council's pages for Central, Bonny Street, Talbot Road and West Street all say charges apply at all times.
- The central promenade: the stretch between Talbot Square, North Pier and New Bonny Street is a controlled zone with no parking at any time.
- Resident permit zones: permit holders only.
- Motorhomes: not allowed in on-street pay and display bays, even with a Blue Badge.
