Car parks near the Grand Theatre
All of these close after an evening show finishes, so the choice comes down to price and how far you want to walk. If you're staying out after the show, Alfred Street, South King Street, Central and Bonny Street never close.
South King Street is £3.10 for 2 hours and £6.20 for 4. The other council car parks (West Street, Alfred Street, Talbot Road, Central and Bonny Street) charge the same as each other: £4.50 for 2 hours, £6.20 for 3 hours, £7.20 for 4 hours and £9.30 for 6 hours. Houndshill is £3 for 2 hours, £4 for 3 hours and £5 for 4 hours. Prices are from Blackpool Council and the Houndshill Shopping Centre, checked in October 2026. Walking times are our estimates from the map.
Theatre parking vouchers
The Grand recommends West Street (satnav FY1 1HA) and sells parking vouchers for it:
- Valid at West Street only, from 5.30pm until 12.30am
- Buy one when you book, at the box office, by phone on 01253 290190, or on the day before you park
- A voucher doesn't guarantee a space, and it's non-refundable if the car park is full, so arrive early on busy nights
For daytime shows, or if West Street is full, Houndshill is just as close and cheaper.
Jack and the Beanstalk: panto parking
The Grand's 2026 pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, runs from Friday 4 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.
- Evening shows start at 7pm. Any car park in the list is still open when you come out, and West Street vouchers are valid from 5.30pm.
- Matinees start at 2pm, or 1pm on Sundays 27 December and 3 January. Houndshill is the cheapest for an afternoon.
- School-time shows start at 10.15am and 1.30pm on 8 to 10 and 15 to 17 December.
- Sundays 27 December and 3 January have a 5pm show as well.
Pantos usually run about two and a half hours with the interval, so buy at least 3 hours of parking, or 4 if you want time for food. Check your ticket for the exact time.
December evenings are the busiest time of year in the town centre: the panto, Christmas shows at the Winter Gardens and the Illuminations all draw crowds. Arrive 30 minutes earlier than you normally would.
Getting there
